With the SX Prestige package, the Telluride gets Nappa leather on all three rows (and the steering wheel), a premium suede-like headliner, as well as heated and ventilated front- and second-row seats. Its 31.4 inches of legroom isn't best in class – the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and Subaru Ascent are a bit better – but the back row is still comfortable enough for shorter bouts. Unlike other three-row crossovers, the Telluride's rear-most seats are adult-friendly.

A silvery-black housing that sinks into the centrally located wood trim keeps it from looking too tacked on.Įvery one of the Kia Telluride's seats is comfortable: front, second, and third-row included.

And while we typically aren't fans of iPad-esque infotainment system tacked onto the dash, the 10.3-inch touchscreen looks attractive here. There's some hard plastic, but most of it's below the knee. The exceptionally styled cabin mimics that of a luxury crossover with high-quality Nappa leather (a $2,000 option as part of the Prestige package), smooth wood-grain finishes, and aluminum knobs and buttons.

On the hood and tailgate, a “TELLURIDE” wordmark nearly extends the width of the vehicle a design feature typically reserved for trucks and classier crossovers. “tiger nose” grille and upright, rectangular headlights give the Telluride a strong gaze, and the slim hook-shaped LED taillights and silver faux running boards continue the tough theme at the rear. If you take into account the NHTSA and IIHS's exceptiional safety review of the 2021 Kia Telluride, along with its extensive standard warranty plan, it's easy to see why it is so popular. The Kia Telluride's butch, boxy look separates it from anything else in the class. Even the entry-spec Telluride comes comprehensively outfitted with advanced driver assists and other up-to-the-minute features. There's plenty of stretch room for all of the Telluride's passengers from the front through to the third-row of seating, with space left over in the trunk for cargo. Nevertheless, performance remains a strong point for the Korean SUV, along with a modern and genuinely stylish exterior design and surprisingly commodious interior. With that said, we still feel the Kia would benefit from a more modern and refined turbocharged small-capacity motor. The V6 engine, which is standard-fit across the board, is both sturdy and reasonably fuel efficient. There are very few cars that are as well-rounded and as rich in value as the 2021 Kia Telluride SUV at its price, which comes in at just $31,990.
